Christmas is over... Ski weekends begins...
I was near Megeve a few weekends ago with friends.
I stopped on the road in a little shop (L'Alpage Gourmand in Combloux) to find wine for the dinner.
What a surprise when I came in... lots of choice, great bottles and nice "little wines".
So I choosed an "Etats d'Ames du Mas Jullien" 2007.
I opened the bottle during the aperitive.
The colour is deep red.
The wine is made with Syrah and Grenache.
After opening, the nose is a little bit reduced... but it doesn't smell bad...
It is more interesting after 10 minutes in the glass. It is more complex, on the black fruits, the spices, liquorice and with fresh notes of menthol.
The mouth is very well structured.
It is a little bit strong at the beginning (maybe too young, I am not patient enough!!), but very nice!
I like the spicy notes, the tanins very well coated and the freshness at the end.
A very nice wine frome Olivier Jullien
