I like Champagne, and I'll speak about bottles I like later, but during the last wine-tasting at home we tried a sparkling white wine from Savoie, an Ayse Mont-Blanc Brut-Zéro 2006.
The wine: AYSE MONT-BLANC 2006
Producer: Dominique Belluard
COLOUR: Golden and green
NOSE: Yellow fruits, green tea and jasmine
PALATE: It is very fresh in the mouth, the bubbles are very thin. At the end it's mineral and a little bit smoked.
It's a good wine, better during a dinner (first courses with fish) than the aperitive. It's very fresh, and very well done. I prefer drinking sparkling wines like that than "generic" champagne without any temper...
Where can you find this wine:
- At le CaveSA in Geneva
- At la Java des flacons (I'll make an article soon about this shop, and Bruno Bozzer the owner... very nice guy!!) in Annecy
- At the domain directly : Domaine Belluard
You can also try the white wine "Le Feu" from this domain, very interesting, made also with this old varietal, the Gringet. It smells white flowers and exotic fruits. The palate is on white peach and a little bit of menthol. It's very fresh et thin... Very good and not so expensive.
