Sunday night... end of the weekend... with friends at home.
So we tried a very nice wine, The Cuvée Laïs from Olivier Pithon.
Olivier Pithon works in the south of France in Roussillon with 15 hectares since 2001.
Laïs is the name of a cow...
The wine is fermented for 3 weeks then aged in barrels or large casks for 14 to 18 months according to the vintage.
The colour is deep red.
The nose is very attractive and complex. It reveals red fruits flavours and pepper... It is very nice to smell.
The palate is very interesting too... Maybe it could be better in few years but it is really good. Notes of pepper, zan, red matured fruits... it is very easy to drink... I love it!!!
Finally a great wine from Roussillon, and not so expensive... 15,5 euros... but for this 2008, I will wait a few years more...
